Assembly Tips: When assembling the armrests, first install the screws closest to the chair's backrest. Tighten them halfway before installing the screws at the front. This allows for some adjustment space between the two screws. When assembling the chair's metal base, there are a total of four screws. The first three screws should be kept slightly loose to allow the base to move freely. Once all four screws are inserted into the nuts, tighten them all completely. It's best to have two people assemble the chair together for faster and easier assembly. Avoid using electric tools for tightening screws, as their high torque can easily strip the screws. Use the provided T-shaped hex key instead.
Our chair comes in two separate packages, shipped from California and New Jersey. The arrival times of the two packages may not coincide, with a time difference of 1-3 days. - To ensure that You receive the chair in a perfect state, each package box is cushioned with 5 layers of protection. On the inside of a corrugated cardboard box, two layers of flexible packaging are used. The corners of the cardboard box are protected and strengthened with paper shells as well. Now that the chair is assembled, I can attest the furniture is solid and built well, high quality. The concerns I had about the clip system for the cushions is not a concern at all. Had I not read about that feature, I would have no idea. To my lay eyes, the cushions are firmly in place without any sort of suggestion otherwise.
The chair is also very comfortable. I use it for hours of reading and writing without getting sore or stiff. The leather is high quality and shows no sign of my cats’ claws who so far have not tried scratching it deliberately and have not done so just by using it for napping when I am not using it.
All around, I couldn’t be happier. I shopped around locally, and this was cheaper by over $1000 for something similar in comfort and style (but not the right look), and pretty much the same price for one that had a comparable look, sort of, but was so firmly stiff to sit upon I could not imagine getting lost in it with a Sunday crossword or the right novel.
Assembly:
Assembling the chair was straightforward and took ~40 minutes (most of which was taking off packaging). While the instructions were mostly clear, I did find that having a second pair of hands made certain steps easier. The construction is solid, and everything fit together, some screws needed bit of fiddling but all in all it reflected a high-quality product.
Quality and Aesthetics:
The quality of this chair is outstanding. The black leather is soft yet durable, and the overall design is both sleek and comfortable. It significantly elevates the ambiance of my room, adding a touch of sophistication and elegance. The chair not only looks good but also feels incredibly luxurious—much more than what I anticipated for the price I paid. I've sat in a real one and I'm not sure i could tell the difference. In both instances I found myself preferring the chair with a pillow. I am 6ft2 and the taller version fit perfect.
Overall Experience:
Overall, I'm extremely happy with my purchase. Easily commands a $1599 price, and it has undoubtedly enhanced the look and feel of my living space for many years. The only down side is it makes the rest of everything look less 'good' relative LOL
