The original Barcelona Chair was designed with the goal to present Germany as a modern, cultural, and economic entity at the 1929 International Exhibition. The Barcelona chair quickly became an iconic modern classic design desired throughout the world. The chair made extensive use of both leather piping and impressed buttons. The design drew inspiration from ancient folding chairs. This can clearly be seen where the frame meets in an x pattern almost looking as if it could fold up in position. The original frame was even designed to bolt together. Only thing I’d address is how FedEx treats our packages. I was near panic stricken with the gashes, dents of the box ( very easily could’ve lost the bolts, hex key as they weren’t secured in the red envelope. )
Anyway, I’ll provide a couple pictures for your feedback soon.

I ordered in black a few months ago after drooling over these for years. I was informed it was back-ordered until Feb. I was given the option of canceling my order but I hung in there and was glad I did. It arrived just a few days after I got a shipment notice. The box had a hole in it so I was nervous about opening but it was packed well and was fine. The only thing unexpected was the unpacking time. Allow one hour. Each support strap and leg is wrapped well. (I got the ottoman so it all took this long.). I could not be more pleased with the comfort, color, and quality.
The chair is beautiful. I'm so happy I went with this one instead of the original. It is an extremely high-quality chair and price you're not going to find anywhere cheaper for the quality. Highly recommended.
